When one of the best things that can be said about a game is that it has a nice soundtrack, there are obviously some core issues that need addressing. Regardless of the reason, there's no excuse that justifies unleashing an error-filled mess upon the general public. It isn't publicly known whether or not the contract has been extended, but if not, it would also imply that Activision needed to release the game this year prior to the deal's expiration.

Although the series has been away for some time, when Activision announced that the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater franchise would return in the hands of developer Robomodo it became clear that there were still a lot of fans eager at the chance to skate again. The first few games, developed by Neversoft Studios, stand out as bold, innovative takes on the sports genre, and opened up doors through which other extreme sports classics like Jet Set Radio would later walk. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 has a lot of nostalgic name value to live up to.
